MANAMA, July 20, 2014 (WAFA) – The President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas on Sunday appealed to the international community to promptly intervene to stop the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, and to impose a cease-fire.

Abbas condemned the massacre committed by the Israeli government on Sunday at dawn, in the Shijaia neighborhood east of Gaza City, which so far resulted in the killing of more than 50 Palestinians and the injury of more than 200, mostly children and women.

Presidential spokesperson, Nabil Abu Rdainah demanded the Israeli government to stop its aggression on the Gaza Strip immediately, and warned of its continuation.

Abu Rdainah noted that President Mahmoud Abbas has been exerting all necessary efforts since the first day of aggression up until the moment with the Arab and international community to demand an immediate intervention to stop the shedding of Palestinian blood.

Abbas also announced a three day mourning period, starting from today [Sunday], for the lives of Palestinian killed in the Shojae’ya massacre committed by the Israeli government in cold blood.

During the three-day mourning period, flags will fly at half mast on official and governmental departments, and Palestinian embassies abroad.
