Abbas Extends Condolences to Victims of Earthquake in Nepal

RAMALLAH, April 26, 2015 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas Sunday offered his condolences to President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, Ram Baran Yadav, following the earthquake that hit Nepal on Saturday.

On Saturday, “a massive earthquake in the region of Nepal killed over 2,000 people and devastated a large swath of the capital city’s buildings and infrastructure,” reported media sources.

“That quake was the worst to hit the poor South Asian nation in over 80 years.”

Abbas expressed his and the Palestinian people’s solidarity with the families of the victims, as well as with the people and government of Japan, and hoped a speedy recovery for the wounded, affirming the Palestinian side’s willingness to provide all possible help.
