Army Crackdowns on Protesters at Jordan Valley Road

JERICHO, February 4, 2014 (WAFA) – Israeli soldiers cracked down Tuesday on Palestinian activists who revived the Jordan Valley village of Ein Hijleh during a protest at the main road near the village, according to Salah Khawaja, one of the activists.

He said the activists demonstrated at Route 90 and hoisted Palestinian flags and carried anti-occupation signs when soldiers deployed in the area pushed them back.

Activists revived the village of Ein Hijleh on Friday with a goal to reinforce Palestinian presence in the area, which is under full Israeli military control.
