Child Saved from Settler’s Kidnapping Attempt in Hebron, Man Attacked and Injured by Settlers in Qalqilia

HEBRON/QALQILIA November 27, 2014 (WAFA) – Israeli settlers Thursday attempted to kidnap a Palestinian minor to the south of Hebron, while other settlers attacked a car shop and its owner in Qalqilia, according to security sources.

Sources said that settlers form the settlement of ‘Nahal Negohot ‘, built illegally on land west of the town of Dura to the south of Hebron, attempted to kidnap 11-year-old Amir Abu Sharar before local residents intervened and saved the child from their hands.

Meanwhile, settlers attacked a car shop in Qalailia area, attacking and severely beating its owner, Ahmad Abu Bakir, before fleeing the scene. Abu Bakir sustained bruises throughout his body and was transferred to hospital for treatment.

To be noted, settlers’ attacks, which have been ongoing for years while Israeli forces make no attempts to stop them, have escalated recently in light of the current tension in the situation, particularly in Jerusalem.

During the past week, several reports of settlers’ attacks and kidnapping attempts were reported.
