Clashes Erupt After Soldiers Arrest Students

JERUSALEM, September 24, 2013 (WAFA) – Clashes broke out late Monday between Israeli soldiers and Palestinians in the town of Izzariyeh, southeast of Jerusalem, after soldiers ambushed university students and arrested them, according to local sources.

They said that five students from Al-Quds University were ambushed and arrested when they were leaving a sports center.

The incident provoked residents in the area who threw rocks and bottles at the soldiers.

Forces fired back tear gas canisters and rubber-coated metal bullets causing injury to at least one person who was shot with a rubber bullet in the foot.
