Construction Cost Index Down in August 2015, says Statistics Bureau

RAMALLAH, September 22, 2015 (WAFA) – The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Residential buildings reached 100.35 with a decrease of 0.57% in the West Bank during August 2015 compared to July 2015, said a report issued by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) on Tuesday.

It said that, CCI declined due to a decrease in the prices of raw materials by 0.92%, while rental equipments increased by 0.19%. The prices of labor wages remained stable during the same period.

Meanwhile, CCI for Non-residential buildings reached 101.64 with a decrease of 0.54% in the West Bank during august 2015 compared to the previous month.

It declined due to a decrease in the prices of raw materials by 0.84%, while rental of equipments increased by 0.15%. The prices of labor wages also remained stable during the same period.

As for CCI for Skeleton buildings, it reached 97.49 with a decrease of 1.32% in the West Bank during August 2015 compared to the previous month. It declined due to the decrease in prices of raw materials by 1.96%, while rental of equipments slightly increased by 0.01%.  Prices of labor wages remained stable during the same period.

The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) reached 111.00 with a decrease of 1.33% in the West Bank during august 2015 compared to July 2015.

It declined due to the decrease in the prices of operating costs of equipment & maintenance by 2.64%, and raw materials by 2.06%. Meanwhile, rental of equipments and labor wages remained stable during the same period.

Meanwhile, the overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) reached 109.04 with a decrease of 0.86% in the West Bank during August 2015 compared to July 2015.

As for the overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI), it reached 106.87 with a decrease of 0.20% in the West Bank during the same period.
