Death Toll hits 36, 300 Injuries in Israel’s Airstrike on Gaza

GAZA, July 9, 2014 (WAFA) – At least 36 Palestinians, including women, children and infants, were killed and around 300 injured since the beginning of Israel’s so called ‘Operation Protective Edge’ which started at predawn last Tuesday, according to medical statistics.

On Wednesday, six Palestinian civilians, including two women and two children, were killed in an Israeli airstrike which targeted a house in Beit Hanun, in northern Gaza, at predawn Wednesday, reported witnesses.

The incident was followed with another attack that hit a motorbike in the nearby town of Beit Lahiya in the morning, killing a man and injuring another seriously.

Meanwhile, a Palestinian and his son were killed, and a third one injured, in an airstrike that hit a house in Nusseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.

A two and a half year old child and his mother were also killed as jet fighters targeted their house in Az-Zaytoun quarter in Gaza city.

Israeli warplanes further hit the village of al-Qararah, north of Khan Yunes, killing a baby and a youngster. The latter is yet to be identified.

In the meantime, 77-year-old Nayfeh Farajallah was killed and three others were injured in an airstrike which targeted Al-Mughraqah neighborhood in southern Gaza city.

At predawn Wednesday, jetfighters targeted Ash-Shawkah neighborhood in the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah, killing a youngster, 24, and injuring two others seriously. The injured were transferred to hospital for medical treatment.

Warplanes targeted a home in Beit Hanoun where a teenager, 14, and his mother, 40, were killed.

Warplanes further hit a crowd in Ash-Shuja’eyyah neighborhood in Gaza city, killing a 13-year-old, and injuring many others.

An airstrike on Beit Hanoun also killed a 25-year-old and critically injured his mother.

Drones and warplanes also hit the surroundings of the European Hospital in Khan Yunes, in southern Gaza, injuring 13 people.

Meanwhile, power was cut off in most areas across the Gaza Strip as Israeli warplanes, drones and warships intensified their attacks over the night on a frequent basis, terrifying the residents, especially children.

Israeli jet fighters and warships targeted hundreds of locations across Gaza, including former headquarters of Palestine state TV as well as residential facilities; dozens of homes have been destroyed during the past two days because of the Israeli airstrikes.
