RAMALLAH, June 11, 2014 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah discussed with visiting Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Yury Fedotov, and his accompanying delegation, the new United Nations program regarding the fight against crimes and counterfeiting, according to the Government Media Center.
Hamdallah stressed the existence of official bodies and non-governmental organizations working to combat corruption in Palestine. He further briefed the officials on the establishment of a rehabilitation center for drug addicts, that’s still in progress.
The Prime Minister stressed that Palestine is committed to all the agreements signed with international institutions, especially after the approval of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to let Palestine be part of the anti-corruption convention. Hamdallah stressed the government’s commitment to provide all facilities for UN staff to work in Palestine and provide all the necessary reports.
He wished success for the United Nations program on counterfeiting and organized crime in Palestine, assuring the support of the Palestinian government for this program.
