RAMALLAH, August 31, 2014 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah met on Sunday with representatives of several international and humanitarian organizations and discussed the government’s urgent intervention plan to relief and reconstruct the Gaza Strip.
Hamdallah confirmed, during a meeting in his office in Ramallah, that the government will fully cooperate with international humanitarian organizations to reconstruct what the Israeli bombardment destroyed in the Gaza strips. He noted that the government will reconstruct houses that were partially damaged and it will rent houses for families whose homes were destroyed completely as well as temporary securing houses and tents for displaced people.
The PM briefed the representatives on the government’s priorities to repairing the internal electricity network and increasing its capacity besides securing water pumps and reestablishing destroyed water wells and networks.
Furthermore, the consensus government will increase supplying hospitals with the medical aid and repairing its damaged units, in addition to immediately rehabilitating schools to start the academic year.
The prime minister asserted that the crew of the Ministry of Public Works’ is fully prepared to immediately work on the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip as they are currently cooperating with the UN teams in rebuilding Gaza’s infrastructure.
The meeting was attended by the deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Mohammed Mustafa.
