RAMALLAH, August 27, 2014 (WAFA) – Palestinian Minister of Health, Jawad Awwad, said Wednesday that a great number of internally-displaced Palestinians in Gaza are suffering from dermatological diseases and infections and that the need to rescue Gaza is urgent.
In a press release Wednesday, Awwad called upon the international community and the friendly countries to immediately provide medical support to Gaza hospitals and health facilities – inflicted by the 51-day of Israeli aggression – and to save Gaza against an imminent health disaster.
“As the aggression comes to an end, working to restore what the war has destroyed [will be] the most important task for the consensus government to undergo,” said Awwad.
He added that easing the implications of the humanitarian catastrophe, inflicted by the Israeli aggression, requires all countries around the world to support our people and to stand by their side.
Meanwhile, director of the chronic diseases section at the MOF, Kamal Shakhra, said thousands of displaced Palestinians in Gaza are suffering dermatological and fungal diseases due to the severe water shortage that has developed due the recent Israeli aggression.
