Injuries among Protesters in Ramallah Confrontations with Israeli Army

RAMALLAH, October 8, 2015 (WAFA) – Several Palestinian protesters were injured with rubber-coated ammunition during renewed clashes at the Israeli Beit El checkpoint, just northeast of Ramallah, according to local sources.

WAFA correspondent said Israeli army and Border Police forces used live ammunition, rubber-coated bullets and teargas canisters to disperse the protesters, causing several injuries.

The Israeli army also sprayed waste water at the protesters to disperse them.

Yesterday, Israel deployed an undercover force at the scene of the clashes at Beit El checkpoint to quell a similar protest, and a number of protesters appeared on a video being brutally assaulted and detained by the Israeli soldiers and undercover soldiers.

Tension has run high across the West Bank and Jerusalem districts, as well as recently inside what is referred to as modern day Israel, in the aftermath of Israel’s escalation and repeated assaults on al-Aqsa Mosque, killing of eight Palestinian teens and settlers’ deadly arson attack against a family sleeping in its house in Duma, south of Nablus.
