JERUSALEM, June 17, 2015 (WAFA) – The Israeli police arrested two Palestinians, and injured five others during clashes that erupted in East Jerusalem late Tuesday, while the army arrested nine Palestinians, including a child, from the West Bank on Wednesday.
WAFA correspondent said that Israeli police stormed the East Jerusalem town al-Issawiya late Tuesday, spurring violent clashes with Palestinians, which lasted until dawn.
During the clashes, police fired tear gas canisters, stun grenades, and rubber-coated steel bullets towards the Palestinian residents, shooting and injuring five at the least. Palestinians responded by firing rocks, fireworks, and empty glass bottles at police.
Police detained a child, who was identified as Rani al-Tamimi. Meanwhile in the Jerusalem town of al-Eizariya, police arrested Nidal Abu Romi after raiding his home and led him to an unknown destination.
In the Ramallah area, forces stormed the village of Bilin after midnight and fired tear gas canisters and stun grenades towards Palestinians before arresting Faris Asha’al, 20.
Forces further arrested three Palestinians, including a child, after raiding and searching their homes in the town of Silwad to the east of Ramallah. They were identified as Abd al-Rahman, 15, Imad, 19, and Mu’te Hammad, 19.
Mu’te Hammad was previously summoned to appear before the Israeli intelligence, where he was subjected to interrogation without the presence of a legal guardian as stipulated by law, reported his mother.
Meanwhile, force arrested a teenager identified as Saqr Abu Mariya, 15, after raiding and searching his family’s home in the Hebron area. Forces also summoned Abu Mariya’s father to appear before the Israeli intelligence.
Israeli soldiers further raided and searched several homes in the Hebron area, where they wreaked havoc and destroyed the content of Khalil Abu Hashim’s home.
In the meantime, forces summoned three Palestinians to appear for interrogation; they were identified as Naser Ikhlil, 25, Hasan Abu Hashim, 25, and Ayman Abu Iram.
In the Nablus district, the army arrested Mahmoud Warrad, a resident of Askar refugee camp, at Zatara military checkpoint to the south, while Firas Farahat, 22, was arrested after forces stormed the town of Beita to the south of Nablus.
In the Bethlehem town of Taqou, forces arrested Sa’ed al-Amour, 21, after raiding and searching his home.
Israeli forces arrested Ahmad Jarrar, 24, after raiding and searching his family’s home in Wadi Burqin area. Israeli army further deployed its troops in the streets and alleys of the city of Jenin, however, no arrests were reported.
