HEBRON, May 7, 2015 (WAFA) – The Israeli authorities on Thursday destroyed the power network in Um Sidreh, a small village located to the south of Hebron, leaving the local Palestinian residents without power supply, according to local sources.
Ahmad Zagharneh, head of the village council of nearby Arab Ramadin, said an Israeli army force stormed Um Sidreh in the early morning hours, before proceeding to destroy its main power network, under the pretext it is close to the segregation barrier which separates the West Bank and Israel.
The Israeli offensive in the village provoked confrontations with local residents, during which army fired teargas canisters and stun grenades at locals, causing multiple cases of suffocation among them, including students.
Following the clashes, soldiers assaulted a teenager before arresting him. He was identified as Muheeb Zagharneh, 17.
