Israel Detains Nine Palestinians, Summons Youth in West Bank

JENIN, September 8, 2015 (WAFA) – Israeli forces detained nine Palestinians, including at least a minor, and summoned a youth during night and predawn raids into several West Bank districts, said security sources.

Forces raided Marka village to the south of Jenin and detained a Palestinian after breaking into and searching his family’s house. The detainee was identified as Ahmad al-Skhn, 21.

Forces also raided Jenin city, where they detained three Palestinians after breaking into and wrecking havoc into their homes. They were identified as Qaisar Jarrar, 18, Yousef Abu Na‘sah, 19, and Ibrahim ‘Antir, 32.

Meanwhile in Jerusalem, Israeli police detained two young Palestinians after storming their houses. The detainees were identified as Osama and Wael al-Rajabi. They were led to an interrogation and detention center in the city of Jerusalem.

Meanwhile in Bethlehem district, forces detained a Palestinian minor after breaking into and ransacking his family’s house in Husan village to the west of the city. The detainee was identified as Majdi Sabatin, 16.

Forces also raided the Bethlehem neighborhood of al-‘Ein, where they summoned a Palestinian after storming and ransacking his house, sparking clashes with locals in Manger Square.

Hasan Shawka, 28, was handed a notice ordering him to appear before Israeli intelligence at the detention and interrogation center  of Gush Etzion.

During the clashes, forces fired tear gas canisters and stun grenades. None was reportedly injured.

In the meantime in Hebron district, forces detained a Palestinian during a predawn raid into al-Fawwar refugee camp to the south of the city. Forces detained ‘Abdullah Rasras, 24, after breaking into and wrecking havoc into his house.

Forces also raided other Hebron neighborhoods and Yatta town to the south of the city. They set up roadblocks at the entrances of both Sa‘ir and Halhul towns to the north of the city, where they stopped and examined Palestinian-registered vehicles and inspected passengers’ identification cards.

This came several hours after a Palestinian minor was detained Monday evening from the Hebron town of Beit Ummar.

Malek ‘Awad, 18, was detained by forces stationed on Tarqumiya border crossing, west of the city, while he has with his father, Jawad.
