Israel tells Palestinians not to be in al-Aqsa on Wednesday

JERUSALEM, September 3, 2013 (WAFA) – The Israeli police informed at least 10 Palestinian residents of East Jerusalem not to be present in al-Aqsa Mosque on Wednesday, Nasser Qous, head of the Jerusalem branch of the Palestinian Prisoner Club, said Tuesday.

He said the police summoned the 10 Palestinians and warned them against being inside the Mosque or even in the Old City of Jerusalem as hundreds of Jewish settlers and fanatics plan to tour the Muslim compound on the occasion of Jewish holidays.

Palestinian leaders have called on Muslims to be present in the Mosque on Wednesday to prevent any Israeli provocation against the Muslim holy place, which fanatic Israelis are calling for turning it into a Jewish worship site.

Police has earlier arrested Sheikh Raed Salah, head of the Islamic Movement in Israel, for the same reason.
