Israeli Army Detains Eight Palestinians in West Bank

WEST BANK, August 20, 2015 (WAFA) – Israeli army detained at least eight Palestinians during predawn and night raids Thursday across the West Bank, according to local and security sources.

In Hebron district, an Israeli army force stormed the town of Beit Awwa and detained 16-year-old Waleed Masalmeh and led him to an unknown destination.

Meanwhile, the army broke into the village of Saffa, to the west of Ramallah, where they detained three Palestinians, including two brothers and their cousin. The three were identified as Ahmad, 18, Omar, 20, and Anwar Ma’rouf, 22.

Other arrests were also reported in the village of Kafr Kaddum, to the east of Qalqilia in northern West Bank, where army forces arrested three local Palestinians and summoned two others. The detainees were identified as Mohammad Nidal, 18, Mohammad Shtewi, 20, and Sari Sameer, 17. The army also raided and searched several homes in the village.

In the meantime, Israeli army arrested a Palestinian from the village of Taqu, in Bethlehem district. He was identified as Rabee Jebril, 29. According to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club (PPC), Jebril suffers from kidney failure in addition to cirrhosis in the liver.
