Israeli Forces Assault Palestinian Elderly at Hebron Checkpoint

HEBRON, November 4, 2015 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Wednesday assaulted a 77-year-old Palestinian at an Israeli military checkpoint set up at entrance of Beit Ummar town, north of the southern West Bank city of Hebron, said a local activist.

WAFA reported Muhammad ‘Awad, local anti-settlement activist, as saying that Israeli forces assaulted the elderly, spraying pepper spray directly into his face following his grandson’s brief detention at the checkpoint.

‘Awad explained that after Bahr inquired about the reason behind detaining his grandson, Ahmad, 17, soldiers scuffled with him and sprayed pepper spray directly into his face.

Forces also fired tear gas canisters at locals and vandalized Palestinian registered vehicles using the butts of their rifles.
