Israeli Forces Detain 14 Palestinians from West Bank, Jerusalem

JERUSALEM, November 26, 2015 (WAFA) – Israeli forces overnight detained 14 Palestinians, including a former detainee and four minors, from West Bank districts, said security sources and a local activist.

Israeli forces detained four Palestinians from Jerusalem, four others from Qalqilya, four from Hebron and another two from Jenin.

In Jerusalem, Israeli police detained a Palestinian, who was identified as Muhammad Erekat, after breaking into and ransacking his family’s house in Abu Dis town, south of the city.

Israeli police detained two more Palestinians after storming their houses in Shu‘fat refugee camp. The detainees were identified as Nour Khader, 22, and Anas al-Khatib, 18.

Another Palestinian who was identified as Haroun Amayra, 38, was detained from the Jerusalem neighborhood of Ath-Thuri, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

Meanwhile in the northern West Bank city of Qalqilya, Israeli army forces broke into and ransacked several houses and detained three Palestinians; Sa‘ed Nofal, and his brother, Adam, as well as Muhammad Walwil, 20.

Israeli soldiers also stormed Azzun town, east of the city, where they broke into several houses and detained the homeowners for several hours.

During the predawn raid, Senan Radwan was detained.

In the meantime in the southern West Bank district of Hebron, forces detained four Palestinian minors from Hebron city and al-‘Arrub refugee camp.

Malek al-Ja‘bari, 16, and Salah Ghaith, 10, were detained from the city where as Muhammad Abu Ghazi, 15, and Loai Rushdi, 17 were detained from al-‘Arrub refugee camp.

This came as forces set up checkpoints at the southern entrance of Hebron, Wadi al-Joz, Idhna town and along roads leading to Kiryat Araba‘ settlement and al-Kassara Road, stopping Palestinian registered vehicles, inspecting passengers’ identification and restricting Palestinians’ movement.

Meanwhile, forces detained two Palestinians and broke into and ransacked several houses in the northern West Bank district of Jenin.

Forces detained a former Palestinian detainee after breaking and wrecking havoc into his family’s house during a predawn raid into Jalqamus, a village to the east of the city.

The detainee was identified as ‘Abdul-Jabbar Khabbas, 33, who had been imprisoned for seven years.

Israeli forces detained another Palestinian during a predawn raid into Kufr Ra‘I, town south of the city. The detainee was identified as Mahmoud al-Wa‘el, 19.

Forces also broke into and tampered with the contents of several houses belonging to former detainees in ‘Arraba, southwest of the city. The homeowners are Tarek Ka‘dan, Muhammad Shaybani and Sa‘id Lahlouh.

WAFA reported on Tarek as saying that a large number of troops and intelligence officers broke into his house after blowing up the doors. They interrogated him and handed  a notice threatening to re-detain him if he becomes once again involved in political activism.

Forces also stormed two other houses belonging to Muhammad al-Mardawi, whose brother, Thabit, is sentenced to many life sentence, as well as the family of Kifah al-‘Arda, who has been expelled to the Gaza Strip.
