HEBRON, March 11, 2015 (WAFA) – Israeli forces detained Wednesday eleven Palestinians and summoned other two from various West Bank districts, said security sources.
Israeli forces raided several Hebron neighborhoods, including al-Dhahiya neighborhood, where they detained a Palestinian after breaking into his house. The detainee was identified as Zaid al-Ja‘bari, 19.
They also raided Halhul town to the north of the city, where soldiers detained two Palestinians after breaking into and ransacking their houses. The detainees were identified as ‘Abdullah Abu Dayyeh, 23, and Muhammad Sha‘fut, 24.
Soldiers stationed on al-Karameh border terminal, also known as Allenby Bridge border terminal, detained a Palestinian while returning from Jordan to his house in Tarqumiya to the northwest of Hebron. The detainee was identified as Muhammad al-Shalalfa.
Forces also raided the Hebron neighborhoods of al-Rama and Tal al-Rumeida, where they broke into and ransacked several houses and stores, including stores belonging to Sa‘ed al-Husseini, Rateb Abu ‘Asab house and a house belonging to ‘Imad Abu Shamsiya.
Meanwhile in Ramallah district, Israeli military vehicles with large infantry dog units stormed overnight Deir Abu Mash‘al village to the northwest of the city, where they broke into several houses, smashing their content and spreading panic among residents, which triggered clashes with locals.
The heavily armed soldiers fired stun grenades and tear gas canisters at locals’ houses and assaulted a resident after breaking into his house. The assaulted resident was identified as Mu‘taz Jamal, who sustained light injuries in his face.
During the pre-dawn raid, four Palestinians were detained. They were identified as Iyad, 49, ‘Odai, 24, Baha’, 24, and Osaid al-Tamimi, 20.
In the meantime in Nablus, forces stormed al-Masakin al-Sha‘biyya neighborhood, where they detained a Palestinian after breaking into his family’s house. The detainee was identified as Mus‘ab Urduniya, 23.
They also stormed al-Dhahiya neighborhood, where they detained a Palestinian after breaking into and ransacking his house. Sources identified the detainee as Ahmad Kalbna.
Meanwhile in Qalqilya district, forces raided ‘Azzoun town, where they proceeded to detain a Palestinian after breaking into his house.
The detainee was identified as Tarek Shbaita, 31, who had been sentenced to three years imprisonment in an Israeli prison.
Meanwhile in Jenin district, forces raided overnight Deir Abu Da‘if to the east of the city, triggering clashes with locals. Soldiers fired tear gas canisters and stun grenades, causing several villagers to suffer from excessive tear gas suffocation.
Israeli soldiers also raided Faqu‘a village to the northeast of the city, where they summoned two Palestinians.
Army troops handed Fayez al-Khatib and Osama Zeidat notices summoning them to appear before intelligence after breaking into their house and coffee shop respectively.
They also broke into a house belonging to Mahmoud ‘Issa, 39, an ex-detainee, and interrogated Issa’s family members.
Tuesday afternoon, Israeli soldiers detained a Palestinian young woman during clashes that erupted near Ofer prison to the west of Ramallah.
Students from Birzeit University had gathered to mark the anniversary of the death of 18-year-old Saji Darwish, an undergraduate student who was killed by Israeli forces last year. Soldiers fired tear gas canisters and rubber bullets at the peaceful march, causing several students and protestors to suffocate from tear gas. One student, Bayan Safi, was detained and interrogated at Ofer military prison.
