JENIN, January 28, 2015 (WAFA) – Israeli forces raided Wednesday and Tuesday evening several towns and cities across the West Bank, detaining five Palestinians and summoning six others for interrogation, said security sources.
Israeli soldiers stationed at a checkpoint near the city of Jenin stopped and detained a young man while he was heading to his work in Hebron. The man was identified as Abdul-Razeq Rabay‘a, 31, a resident of Meithalun town to the south of Jenin.
They also raided al-Yamun town to the west of the city, where they handed four Palestinian notices summoning them to appear before intelligence after breaking into their families’ houses. The young men were identified as Jehad Nawahda, Yousef Fraihat, Hasan Zayed and ‘Irsan Abu al-Hasan.
Israeli soldiers also raided Kufr Ra‘i village to the southwest of the city, where they handed a resident a notice summoning him to appear before intelligence after breaking into his family’s house. The man was identified as Ayman Melhem.
Also in the Jenin district, forces raided ‘Arraba to the southwest of the city, breaking into and ransacking Fadi Abu Salah and Hasan Sa‘abna houses.
Soldiers stationed near Salem military base to the west of the city detained three young men as well. According to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Club, Osama Subuh, ‘Udai Qash and ‘Ali Khluf, all in their twenties, were detained while awaiting ‘Abdullah Khluf and Munadel Abu Khaled, two Palestinian prisoners who were released at that time.
They also conducted an extensive search operation in Zububa, Deir Abu Da‘if and Jalbun villages, respectively located northwest and east of the city, breaking into and ransacking several houses, including those belonging to Ahmad, Muhammad and Yousef Jaradat. No arrests were reported.
Israeli soldiers detained 11 Palestinians from Jenin and Tubas districts and transferred them to Salem military camp to the west of the city.
The young men were detained for several hours and interrogated purportedly for approaching the section of the segregation wall in the district.
Meanwhile in Bethlehem district, several military vehicles raided Ad-Duheisha refugee camp to the southwest of the city, where they handed Ward Fararja, 18, a notice summoning him to appear before intelligence in the illegal settlement bloc of Gush Etzion.
In Hebron, Israeli soldiers briefly detained and assaulted three Palestinians in the Old City.
Mu‘ath, ‘Othman al-Hashlamon and Muhammad al-Sharif were brutally beaten before being detained in a nearby police station.
The internationally recognized Palestinian territory, comprising the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, has been subject to Israeli military occupation since 1967.
