Israeli Forces Fire Tear Gas at Schoolchildren, Suffocate 70

HEBRON, November 19, 2015 (WAFA) – Over 70 Palestinian schoolchildren Thursday suffocated as Israeli forces showered their school in Hebron’s Old City with tear gas and skunk water.

WAFA reported on Deputy Principal of al-Zahra’ Primary School, A’isha Abu Sneinah, as saying that Israeli forces fired tear gas canisters and foul-smelling skunk water toward the school during the first class, causing school children to suffocate from excessive tear gas inhalation and suffer convulsions.

The school children were provided with first aid at the scene and a number of them were rushed into two Hebron hospitals for further treatment.

This came as school children were prevented from accessing their schools in south of Hebron after Israeli soldiers showered the area with tear gas and skunk water.

Forces fired tear gas canisters and foul-smelling skunk water into the area surrounding Tareq Ibn Ziad Secondary School and al-Ibramimiya School.

Separately, Israeli forces physically assaulted a Palestinian near the Gush Etzion settlement bloc. The man, identified as ‘Abdul-Rahman Karja, was rushed into a Hebron hospital.
