HEBRON, March 26, 2015 (WAFA) – The Israeli forces Thursday notified Palestinian families with demolition and stop-construction orders for several homes and structures in Surif town and near Yatta to the north and south of Hebron in the southern West Bank, said local municipal source and activist.
Surif Mayor Muhammad Lafi said that Israeli forces and officers from the so-called Civil Administration stormed the town, where they handed local families orders to stop the construction of six houses in Deir Musa, a locality to the northwest of the town.
Lafi added that these homes are mostly populated, with only one house under construction. The owners of the homes were identified as Ali Mousa, Issa, Zaher and Mousa Ghneimat as well as Muhammad Safi and Yousef Salama.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces also broke into Janaba and al-Fakhit localities to the east of Yatta, where they placed orders to demolish three residential rooms and a tent, said Rateb Jabour, who coordinates anti-settlement construction activities in southern West Bank.
Jabour identified the owners of the targeted rooms and tent as Muhammad Houshiya, ‘Issam Makhamra and ‘Ali al-Jabarin.
He noted that Israeli forces routinely (frequently) serve demolition and stop-construction orders for the indigenous Palestinian communities in Yatta area in order to force them out of their lands and seize their lands for settlement construction activities.
