JERUSALEM, September 18, 2013 (WAFA) – Israeli police Wednesday closed al-Aqsa Mosque compound to Muslims while allowing free access to Jews.
Police also attacked Palestinians who were already inside the compound for protesting the closure of the mosque to Muslims, according to witnesses.
They said police prevented Muslims of all ages from entering the mosque compound while allowing groups of fanatic Jews to enter it and conduct prayers and rituals on its yards to celebrate the start of Jewish holidays.
One of the mosque employees said police attacked the worshipers who were already present inside the compound since last night with tear gas canisters and pepper spray causing several suffocation cases among them and the arrest of three people.
Police locked the worshipers inside the mosque buildings and threatened to fire tear gas canisters at them if they tried to stop the fanatic Jews from walking around and praying in the mosque compound.
Meanwhile, angry Palestinians gathered outside the closed mosque gates and chanted slogans condemning Israeli police for preventing them from entering the mosque.
