JERUSALEM, January 28, 2015 (WAFA) – A Palestinian minor and resident of East Jerusalem was attacked by an Israeli settler in the town of Silwan, lightly injuring him and leaving bruises all over his body, according to witnesses.

Other residents present at the scene informed WAFA that an Israeli settler beat up 14-year-old Ibrahim Ghaith while on his way to School. Residents present at the scene rescued the child from the assault.

According to an OHCA report covering the period between December 23 and 29, “Five incidents of Israeli attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank, resulting in injury and damage to Palestinian property, were recorded this week, bringing the total number of such incidents in 2014 to 330, compared to 400 in the equivalent period in 2013.”

All Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, are illegal under international law. The Fourth Geneva Convention prohibits an Occupying Power from transferring its civilian population into an occupied territory.
