JERUSALEM, September 16, 2013 (WAFA) – Groups of Israeli fanatics toured the compound of al-Aqsa Mosque, an Islamic holy place in Jerusalem, on Monday led by a Jewish rabbi, according to a local employee.
Provocative visits of the walled al-Aqsa compound by Jewish extremists have intensified lately due to the Jewish holidays.
The employee told WAFA that several small groups of hard-line Jewish extremists toured the compound since the early hours, listening to lectures by their rabbi on the importance of the place for Judaism.
Meanwhile, Israeli police kept a close eye on Palestinians entering the compound, checking their identity papers as they come in and leave it.
Palestinians fear the rise in the number of Jewish visits to the compound is a prelude to either dividing it or turning it in total into a Jewish shrine.
