VILNIUS, March 13, 2013 (WAFA) – Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius said Wednesday that his country has upgraded Palestine’s diplomatic office in Vilnius to mission, according to a Lithuanian foreign ministry statement.
It said the decision came in letter Linkevicius sent to the Palestinian non-resident ambassador to Lithuania, Nabil Wazir.
Linkevicius said that upgrading the office status shows the importance of developing Lithuanian-Palestinian relations. He also reiterated his country’s condemnation of Israeli settlements in the Palestinian territories. He expressed hope that a just solution will be found for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
