Newspaper Review: Arab Summit Calls for Subsidizing PA’s Budget

RAMALLAH, March 30, 2015 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies Monday highlighted the Arab 26th summit, which called for subsidizing the Palestinian Authority’s budget throughout a one-year cycle.

Al-Quds and al-Ayyam said the summit’s communiqué called for subsidizing PA’s budget for one year starting from April 1.

The three dailies also highlighted the summit’s decision to create a joint military force tasked with fighting “terror groups”.

Al-Ayyam and al-Hayat al-Jadida said the Israeli government asked the High Court of Justice for permission to demolish the ancient Palestinian village of Susia, south of Hebron.

The two dailies said President Mahmoud Abbas participated in the “international march against terrorism” in Tunisia, which took place on Sunday.

Al-Ayyam reported on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who condemned the framework of the Iranian nuclear agreement being sought by international negotiators, saying it is even worse than his country had feared.

Al-Hayat al-Jadida quoted Netanyahu as saying “Iran-Lausanne-Yemen axis” must be stopped, amid reports of possible progress in the ongoing talks in Switzerland between Iran and the world powers.

Al-Quds said King Abdullah II of Jordan called for reviving peace talks based on a two-state solution.
