RAMALLAH, November 17, 2015 (WAFA) – Israeli military’s shooting and killing of two Palestinians in Qalandia refugee camp on Monday, made headlines of the three Palestinian Arabic dailies on Tuesday.
The dailies said that Israeli military shot and killed two Palestinians during an Israeli military offensive on Qalandia, as the latter punitively demolished the house of Mohammad Abu-Shahin, a prisoner in Israeli jails whom Israel accuses of being involved in fatal attacks against Israeli targets.
Al-Hayyat al-Jadida in this regard read in red bold letters: A bloody dawn in Qalandia.
Al-Ayyam said Monday’s killings bring the number of Palestinians killed by Israel since the beginning of unrest in early October, 2015, to 88, with more than 10,000 injuries reported.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida focused on remarks made by President Mahmoud Abbas, where he said that ‘we’ are all against all forms of terrorism, since ‘we’ are the “victims” of terror.
Al-Ayyam and al-Hayat al-Jadida said presidential spokesman Nabil Abu-Rudeneh condemned the Israeli offensive in Qalandia, and reiterated calls for the provision of international protection for the Palestinian people.
Al-Quds and al-Ayyam said dozens of Palestinians were injured during clashes with Israeli forces across the West Bank on Monday.
Al-Quds said Israel decided to deny the entry of 91 international pro-Palestinian activists to the occupied Palestinian Territory.
Al-Quds said the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) foresees a budget deficit of $81 in its 2016 budget.
The three dailies said UN Special Rapporteur on Extrajudicial Executions, Christopher Hines, and Special Rapporteur on the Situation of Human Rights in the Palestinian Territories, Makarim Wibisono, warned about possible executions of Palestinians by Israeli forces.
