Newspapers Review: Dailies Highlight Egypt’s Gruesome Revolution Anniversary

RAMALLAH, January 26, 2015 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies highlighted in their Monday issue Egypt’s bloody events on the day marking January 25 Revolution fourth anniversary, which toppled ex-President Hosni Mubarak.

The three dailies said at least 18 Egyptians were killed, including three soldiers, during confrontations in multiple cities on the anniversary of the January 25 Revolution.

Al-Quds said Israeli jet fighters performed mock raids over Gaza on Sunday.

It said Israeli settlers chopped down olive trees and razed an agricultural land in two West Bank villages on Sunday.

Al-Ayyam said the Hamas authorities in Gaza proceeded to establish an international seaport in Gaza to launch cruises in the near future.

The dailies said that an Israeli youngster infiltrated into a hospital where Hamza Matrouk was being hospitalized and verbally insulted him. Matrouk reportedly attacked a bus on January 21 and stabbed and injured 12 Israelis.

Al-Ayyam said a homeless Palestinian, whose house was demolished by Israel during the 2014 summer aggression, attempted to commit suicide on Sunday by setting himself on fire.

Al-Hayat al-Jadida said the Israeli army declared the state of high alert in northern Israel after receiving a false warning, which comes amid tensions with Hezboallah in southern Lebanon.
