RAMALLAH, January 20, 2015 (WAFA) – Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki announced Tuesday that Palestine has already sought international experts and specialists’ assistance to initiate litigation against Israel at the International Criminal court (ICC) for its war crimes against the Palestinian people.
Al-Malki said in a radio show at the Voice of Palestine radio, “We have virtually started preparations to bring lawsuits against Israel at the ICC. In cooperation with international human rights organizations, we have started to collect evidence and affidavits that would be submitted to ICC.”
Al-Malki said the Palestinian Authority has contacted the offices of some prominent attorneys experienced in lawsuits before ICC in order to explore the possibility of pressing charges regarding the situation in Palestine. We have already hired international experts and specialists in this field to help us.”
Commenting on the difficulty of litigation, al-Malki stated: “The issue is not easy but very demanding and costly, requiring competent expertise. We would continue to work confidentially in order not to provide the other side (Israel) with a weapon that it can utilize.”
