Palestinian Cabinet Condemns Israel’s Shutdown of Hebron’s Radio Station

RAMALLAH, November 21, 2015 (WAFA) – General-Secretary of the Palestinian cabinet Ali Abu Diak Saturday condemned the Israeli military’s shutdown of the Hebron-based al-Khalil Radio Station, describing it as a continuation of the Israeli government’s criminal behavior.

Earlier Saturday, Israeli army forces shut down al-Khalil radio station in the city of Hebron for a period of six months, citing incitement to violence as a pretext.

In a press statement, the general-secretary denounced the early Saturday raid and attack on the radio station by Israeli forces, stressing that such measure comes as part of Israel’s persistent violations of international law.

Abu Diak described  this Israeli measure as an attempt to hide the truth behind the continues ‘heinous crimes’ it commits against the Palestinian people, slamming Israel’s shutdown of the radio station as a blatant attack on the freedom of media, press, and opinion.

He stressed the need for the international community, and all relevant international and regional organizations to shoulder their responsibilities and speak out in order to rein in the Israeli terrorism, extremism, and systematic crimes committed against the Palestinian people and media organizations.

He further reiterated the Palestinian government’s call for the world countries  to support the Palestinian people in their struggle to gain the  right to self-determination, to end the occupation, and to establish their independent state, with Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international law and principals of the international legitimacy.

He further urged to bring to justice all perpetrators of Israeli war crimes.
