JERUSALME, October 10, 2015 (WAFA) – A Palestinian youth, who was shot and critically injured during clashes that erupted in Jerusalem’s Shufa’at Refugee camp on Friday evening, succumbed to his wounds early Saturday, according to a local official.
Member of Fatah faction in Jerusalem, Adel Abu Zneed, informed WAFA that Ahmad Salah, 20, was pronounced dead at Israel’s Hadasa Ein Karem hospital, where he was receiving treatment.
Violent clashes broke out near the camp entrance on Friday – only a day after another youth, who was identified as Wisam Jamal, was fatally shot by police during Thursday clashes at the camp – where soldiers fired live and rubber-coated steel bullets as well as tear gas canisters toward Palestinians who rallied to condemn the killing of Jamal.
Salah was struck with live ammunition in his head, and was left to bleed for hours before Israeli police transferred him to hospital, where he succumbed to his critical wounds. Many other Palestinians were injured during the Friday clashes, including two critical cases.
Police further detained a critically injured Palestinian, after providing him with first-aid treatment at the scene. He was taken by Israeli police in a military jeep despite of his critical injuries.
Another Palestinian youth, who was shot and critically injured by Israeli soldiers’ fire during clashes that broke out near Gaza borderline on Friday evening, succumbed to his serious wounds early Saturday.
