Premier Orders Formation of Joint Force to Protect Hospitals in West Bank

RAMALLAH, November 12, 2015 (WAFA) – General-Secretary of the Palestinian cabinet Ali Abu Diak said Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah issued orders to form a joint force to provide hospitals in the West Bank with protection.

Abu Diak said in a press release that raiding al-Ahli hospital, shooting and killing Abdulla Shalada and lastly kidnapping his cousin Azzam Shalalda is a serious violation and heinous crime that is added to a series of dangerous violations of international laws and charters and human rights.

He said Israeli soldiers and undercover agents have raided a hospital in Nablus last month and raided al-Makased hospital in Jerusalem more than one time; incidents that indicate that Israel deliberately commits crimes with complete disregard of international law and organizations.

Abu Diak said the government called upon the World Health Organization to immediately interfere and apply international charters concerning hospitals’ protection.

“Officials in charge of committing heinous crimes against Palestinians must be tried at the International Criminal Court,” he said.
