Presidency Condemns Netanyahu’s Statements on Jerusalem

RAMALLAH May 28, 2014 (WAFA) – Presidential spokesperson, Nabil Abu Rdainah, said in response to Netanyahu’s statements on Jerusalem, that the Palestinian, Arab and international position, states that East Jerusalem is the capital of the State of Palestine and that there is ‘no pact’ without East Jerusalem as the capital.

He stressed that such statements put more obstacles in the way of the United States and the international community’s exerted effort to revive the peace process.

‘The continuation of such policy, which is in violation with international legitimacy, will have serious repercussions and does not create any chances to reach peace.’

Netanyahu earlier Tuesday reiterated Israel’s position opposing the division of Jerusalem; he vowed to preserve Jerusalem as the undivided capital of Israel, reported Ynet news, stating that ‘Jerusalem is the heart of the nation; we will never split our heart.’
