Presidency Describes US Comments on Two-State Solution Future as Discouraging

CAIRO, November 8, 2015 (WAFA) – Presidential spokesman, Nabil Abu Rudeineh Sunday said the United States’ comments regarding the future of the two-state solution are discouraging and will not contribute to calm in the area.

He said, in response to comments made by the US, that such comments are particularly discouraging in light of the Israeli ongoing policy of arrests and shooting without a valid reason.

Abu Rudeineh told WAFA the Palestinian leadership has national fundamentals and official decisions as well as international and Arab support. “Everyone must assume responsibility because we are at a cross roads that will influence the entire region.”

He affirmed that Jerusalem and the holy sites are a red line that shouldn’t be crossed and that settlement activities are illegal. Palestinians will not agree to partial solutions without a state and its capital as East Jerusalem based on the Arab peace initiative and international charters.
