Prisoner Kidnapped from Ukraine Ends Hunger Strike

RAMALLAH, August 29, 2013 (WAFA) – The prisoner Israel had kidnapped from the Ukraine ended his hunger strike after the Israel Prison Service (IPS) had agreed to bring him out of solitary confinement, the Palestinian Prisoner Club (PPC) said Thursday.

Israeli Mossad agents kidnapped Dirar Abu Sisi, from Gaza, in February 2011 while travelling in the Ukraine, his wife’s home country, and brought him to Israel where he has been held since then in solitary confinement.

Sisi went on hunger strike two weeks ago demanding to be brought out of isolation.

The PPC said Sisi reached a deal with the IPS to be placed in a regular cell with Palestinian inmates within 10 days and to be allowed family visitation in return for ending his hunger strike, during which he lost eight kilograms.
