Shaath Urges EU to Take Action against Israeli Violations

RAMALLAH, March 12, 2013 (WAFA) – Fatah Commissioner of International Relations, Nabil Shaath, Tuesday described the European Union position regarding the Israeli violations in the occupied Palestinian Territory as positive but said that no real actions were taken on the ground, particularly regarding the ongoing settlement activities.

He stressed before meeting with technical experts from the European Council on Foreign Relations the need for the European Union to pressure Israel to abide by the signed agreements and the terms of references which states that Palestine is an independent state.

He thanked Europe for its financial support and all other types of support, particularly for its long-standing position in support of the Palestinian people.

Shaath praised the recent EU report which called to impose sanctions on Israeli settlement products from the West Bank.
