Spanish Islands Urge Israel to Remove Settlements

MADRID, May 14, 2013 (WAFA) –  Spain’s Balearic Islands Parliament Tuesday urged the government of Spain and the international community to compel Israel to implement its international obligations including removing settlements and withdrawing from Palestine.

President of the Balearic Islands Parliament Margalida Capellà sent a letter to Palestine Ambassador to Spain Kifah Odeh, in which she urged to pressure Israel into remove illegal settlements, withdraw from Palestine, demolish the wall and commit to the United Nations resolutions.

The parliament urged the European Union to suspend work by trade agreements with Israel especially gun trade.

The parliament condemned Israeli assault of civilians and called on both parties to renounce terrorism.
