HEBRON, July 24, 2014 (WAFA) – Confrontations erupted across Hebron at dawn Thursday as Israeli army stormed several areas in the governorate, provoking clashes with local residents and causing several cases of suffocation, whereas a resident was shot with a live bullet during confrontations in nearby al-Fawwar refugee camp, according to media sources.
WAFA correspondent said confrontations erupted as Israeli soldiers raided and searched a number of houses in the city; soldiers fired tear gas and poison gas canisters towards the residents, causing several suffocation cases among them.
Meanwhile, confrontations erupted in the nearby al-Fawwar refugee camp, where soldiers fired live bullets, tear gas canisters and stun grenades, injuring at least one resident with a live shot in his hand. He was transferred to hospital for medical treatment.
Israeli forces also stormed the town of al-Shuyukh, northeast of Hebron, in the predawn hours, leading to confrontations; soldiers opened live fire as well as fired rubber-coated steel bullets, tear gas canisters and stun grenades, injuring several residents. The injured received treatment at the scene.
