Update: Israeli Forces Detain 10 Palestinians from West Bank Districts

JERUSALEM, August 19, 2015 (WAFA) – Israeli forces early Wednesday detained 10 Palestinians from West Bank districts, said security sources and an activist.

Forces raided al-‘Eizariya town to the east of Jerusalem as local Palestinians took to the streets in solidarity with Palestinian detainee Mohammad ‘Allan, 31, who is has been hunger striking for around 65 days and Tuesday afternoon woke from a four-day coma.

During the violent clashes that erupted in the aftermath of the raid, forces detained two Palestinians identified as Ra’fat and Mustafa al-Shawwa.

Furthermore, Israeli police detained a Palestinian after breaking into and ransacking his house in the Old City of Jerusalem. The detainee was identified as Mohammad ‘Abdul-Latif.

Police also raided al-‘Issawiya town to the north of the city, where they detained a Palestinian identified as Munir Mahmoud.

Meanwhile in Nablus district, forces raided Salem, a village to the east of the city, where they detained a Palestinian after breaking into and ransacking his house. The detainee was identified as Mohammad Ishtayyeh.

Israeli forces stationed at a military checkpoint at the northern entrance of Beit Furik to the southeast of the city stopped and detained two Palestinians. The detainees were identified as Fadi Mlaitat and Ahmad Abu Hait.

In the meantime, in Hebron district, forces raided al-Fawwar refugee camp to the south of the city, where they proceeded to detain a local Palestinian after breaking into and ransacking his house. The detainee was identified as Shehada Zaqqut, 22.

Forces stationed at al-Karama border crossing, also known as Allenby, detained a Palestinian while traveling to Jordan. The detainee was identified as Mahmoud Ikhlail, 21, who had been detained in Israeli prisons for a year.

Meanwhile in Jericho district, forces detained a Palestinian after breaking into and ransacking several houses, including his house, in al-‘Auja town to the north of the city. The detainee was identified as Mohammad ‘Awad, 50.
