Update: Israeli Forces Detain 31 Palestinians from West Bank

HEBRON, November 12, 2015 (WAFA) – Israeli forces overnight detained 31 Palestinians, including at least 10 minors, from West Bank districts, said Palestine Prisoners’ Club in a press statement.

Israeli forces detained 21 Palestinians from Hebron, Ramallah and Bethlehem districts, five from Nablus, four from Jenin and Qalqilya and another from Jerusalem.

Israeli soldiers raided Dura town, southwest of Hebron, detained five minors after breaking into and ransacking their families’ homes.

The detainees were identified as Feras, 15, and his cousin, Anas Abu Khallaf, 15, Mu‘taz Abu ‘Arqub, 17, ‘Omar Faquseh, 15, and ‘Abdul-Majid Masharqa, 17.

Israeli forces also detained another Palestinian minor after storming and ransacking his family’s house in al-‘Arrub refugee camp, north of Hebron. The detainee was identified as Diaa’ Diyab, 17.

This came several hours before Israeli undercover forces kidnapped ‘Azzam Shalalda, 22, from al-Ahli Hospital in Hebron.

Undercover forces also killed ‘Azzam’s cousin, ‘Abdullah, 27, firing one bullet close to his ear, another in the chest and three in his hands. Abdullah was pronounced dead shortly.

Meanwhile in the central West Bank city of Ramallah, forces detained seven Palestinians, mostly minors, in a dawn raid into al-Jalazoun refugee camp.

During the raid, forces detained Muhammad Safi, and his cousins, Muhammad and Mustafa, 14, ‘Ali Dabour, Yazzan Yassin, 12, and his brother, Aws, 14, and Mahmoud al-Sayyed.

This came after Israeli soldiers raided Beit Rima village and stormed several houses and a clinic, and tampered with their contents.

Forces stormed a house belonging to Muhammad al-Rimawi under the pretext of searching for his son, Karim. They also broke into a clinic belonging to Muhammad’s second son, Ihab, and another house belonging to Dawla al-Rimawi.

This came several hours after Israeli soldiers detained Wednesday evening a Palestinian at a flying checkpoint at the Ein Siniya turnabout, northeast of Ramallah.

WAFA correspondent reported that an Israeli force detained the man, who remained unidentified, after stopping and ordering him to get out of his car.

Meanwhile in the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem, forces detained seven Palestinians in raids into ‘Aids refugee camp, north of the city, al-‘Ubeidiya town, east of the city, Nahhalin village, southwest of the city, and Za ‘tara town, southeast of the city.

The detainees were identified as Ahmad ‘Adwein, 24, Sami Hammad, 18, Jawad Radayda, Muhammad Tafesh, ‘Abdul-Karim and ‘Abdul-Hadi Shakarna, and Bara’ Ghayyada.

In the northern West Bank district of Nablus, Israeli forces detained a Palestinian after breaking into his house in a predawn raid into the city. He was identified as Feras Khalfa.

Israeli soldiers detained two Palestinian minors in a predawn raid into Beit Furiq town, southeast of the city; Muhammad Abu Hait and Muhammad Hanani.

Furthermore, forces stationed at Atara military checkpoint, north of Birzeit town, detained a Palestinian from Talfit village, south of the city. The detainee was identified as Husam Msallam.

Another Palestinian was detained as forces stormed and ransacked his house in ‘Azmut village, east of Nablus. He was identified as Murad Sawalha, 17.

In the meantime in the northern West Bank district of Jenin, forces physically assaulted and detained a Palestinian from a cemetery in Sanour village, south of the city.

Bilal ‘Ayasa, 23, was brutally assaulted and detained by troops purportedly for planning to carry out an attack on Israelis in revenge for the killing of Sadeq Gharbia, 16, by Israeli forces while crossing the Container checkpoint, north of Bethlehem.

‘Ayasa, who suffers from a heart disease, was detained and moved to a detention and interrogation center in a military ambulance.

During the predawn raid, forces stormed and wrecked havoc into several houses, including those belonging to Raji, Husni and As‘ad ‘Ayasa.

Furthermore, forces detained a Palestinian as they raided Barta‘a village, south of the city. ‘Ala’ Kabaha was detained after breaking into and ransacking his family’s house.

Meanwhile in Qalqilya, forces detained two Palestinians as they raided and stormed two houses in the northern West Bank city. The detainees were identified as Jamal Da’wood, 57, and Muhammad Shatara.

In Jerusalem, police detained a Palestinian minor while he was heading to his school. The detainee was identified as Baker ‘Awais.
