GAZA, August 21, 2014 – (WAFA) – Israeli fighter jets carried out Thursday several pre-dawn airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, claiming the lives of 25 Palestinians and injuring dozens others, bringing the death toll since the resumption of Israeli aggression on Tuesday to 56 Palestinians and the total death toll to 2,073 and over 10,200 injuries.
Israeli warplanes targeted Thursday late morning a motorbike in Ma‘n area in Khan Younes, claiming the life of a Palestinian and injuring his brother. The fatality was identified as Hamdan Salem Hadayed, 40.
Israeli warplane also targeted Thursday late morning a civilian vehicle in al-Naser Road in northwestern Gaza city, claiming the lives of two Palestinians, including a child, and injuring several others.
Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes targeted a group of Palestinians while they were at ash-Shuhada cemetery in ash-Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in northern Gaza, claiming the lives of three Palestinians and critically injuring three others. A fatality was identified as ‘Abed Talal Shyukh.
Israeli F-16 fighter jets fired eight missiles at several homes, including Killab family’s home, in Tal al-Sultan neighborhood in Rafah, claiming the lives of eight Palestinians; three Hamas senior commanders and five civilians, including three elderly and a minor.
The three Hamas senior commanders were identified as Muhammad Abu Shammala, Raed al-‘Attar and Muhammad Barhoum. The other civilian fatalities were identified as Hasan Hussein Younis, 75, his wife Amal Ibrahim Younis, 74, Aysha ‘Atiyyeh, in her 60s, Ahmad Nasser Killab, 17, and Fatima ‘Ilayyan.
Meanwhile, Israeli F-16 fighter jets carried out a pre-dawn airstrike on several homes in Jabalia and Beit Lahia in northern Gaza Strip, injuring six Palestinians, including a serious injury.
Israeli warplanes also targeted a group of Palestinians in Al-Nusseirat refugee camp, claiming the lives of two Palestinians. One fatality was identified as Jum‘a Matar, 17.
Meanwhile, an Israeli surveillance drone fired at least a missile at a group of Palestinians in western Beit Lahia in northern Gaza Strip, claiming the lives of at least two Palestinians. The two fatalities were identified as Srour Muhammad Tanbura along with his son, Hasan.
Israeli surveillance drones also targeted a group of children near al-Sunnah mosque in al-Nafaq street in Gaza city, claiming the lives of four Palestinians, including three children, and critically injuring other four children.
Meanwhile, Palestinian Civil Defense and rescue teams pulled the body of a child from the rubble of al-Dalew home reduced to rubble after being targeted by Israeli jet fighters Tuesday night in Sheikh Radwan neighborhood to the northwest of Gaza city.
The child was identified as Sarah, the daughter of Muhammad Al-Daif, General Commander of the Izz Ad-Din Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement.
