RAMALLAH, May 23 2013 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas Thursday received US Secretary of state John Kerry in the presidential headquarters in Ramallah where they discussed reviving stalled peace process.
They resumed prior talks held between them during the past couple of weeks regarding efforts exerted to revive the stalled peace process.
Abbas stressed the Palestinian position regarding requirements to resume serious and credible negotiations in order to save the two-state solution.
Abbas raised several key issues; the ongoing settlement activities, the Israeli attacks in the occupied city of Jerusalem, settlers’ ongoing attacks in addition to the continued detention of prisoners.
Abbas also held a closed-door meeting with Kerry which lasted for about an hour.
