GAZA, July 14, 2014 (WAFA) – At least 173 Palestinians were killed, including 37 children, 24 women and 12 elderly, and around 1260 were injured since Israel started its current aggression on Gaza on July 8, according to medical statistics.
WAFA correspondent said four people, including a child, suffered various injuries after an Israeli jet fighter targeted a house in Gaza city. They were transferred to hospital for medical treatment.
Earlier at night, Israeli warplanes launched a series of airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, injuring three in Khan Yunes, four in Deir el-Balah and in the nearby refugee camps of Nusseirat, Bureij and al-Maghazi. Two others were reported injured in Az-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza city. They were transferred to hospital for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, seven Palestinians were reported injured as jet fighters hit the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Lahiya. They were transferred to hospital for medical treatment.
In the meantime, a mother and her three children were also injured following an Israeli airstrike that hit the southern Gaza Strip during the night.
The intensive Israeli bombardment last night resulted in a shutdown of electricity and the internet in most areas across Gaza city.
Warplanes also targeted residents’ homes in Juhr-Eddik southeast of Gaza, causing fire to erupt in the area.
Meanwhile, warplanes hit an agricultural area in Al-Mughraqa neighborhood south of Gaza, which caused damage to nearby houses. Gaza Municipality’s water tankers in Az-Zaytoun neighborhood was also a target for Israeli warplanes.
