Foreign Ministry: Al-Ramouni’s Murder Direct Result of Netanyahu’s Incitement

RAMALLAH, November 17, 2014 – (WAFA) – The murder of Yusuf al-Ramouni is the direct result of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s incitement against the Palestinian people, stated Monday the Foreign Ministry in a press release.

The Ministry stated the spread of hatred, violence and racism among the Israeli society against the Palestinians is the direct result of Netanyahu as well as other Israeli minister’s incitement. It held Netanyahu in person fully responsible for the murder of al-Ramouni.

The body of al-Ramouni, 32, was discovered hanged by a thin cord inside an Israeli bus run by the Egged Company in West Jerusalem area of Givat Shaul. Israeli police claimed al-Ramouni committed suicide, while fellow bus drivers said his death was highly probable a crime committed by Israeli settlers.

Al-Ramouni’s relatives said that he was beaten by six settlers before being strangled by a thin metal cord. Unverified images circulating on social media apparently show severe bruising on al-Ramouni’s back and arms.

The Ministry urged the UN institutions to form an impartial investigation committee that would supervise an autopsy for al-Ramouni’s body and examine surveillance cameras and evidence concealed by Israeli police in order to disclose the circumstances surrounding the crime.

The Ministry slammed Israeli police’s hasty claims that al-Ramouni committed suicide as fabrications meant to cover up such a heinous crime. It considered that such claims would encourage Israeli racists to commit more crimes.
