RAFAH, June 25, 2013 (WAFA) – The main and only cargo crossing between Gaza and the outside world, Karm Abu Salem (Kerem Shalom), remained closed Tuesday for the second day in a row, according to officials.
Raed Fattouh, head of the cargo coordinating committee, told WAFA that the Israeli authorities informed them that the crossing will remain closed, which means no goods, including badly needed fuel, will be allowed to enter Gaza.
Israel closed all Gaza crossings on Monday in retaliation for the firing of missiles from Gaza into southern Israel late Sunday night. The missiles did not cause any harm or injury and Israel responded to them with seven air strikes on different targets in the Gaza Strip but without causing any injury.
