Hamdallah Praises Palestinian Diaspora’s Efforts towards Relief of Gaza


RAMALLAH, August 31, 2014 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah commended the role of the Palestinian Diaspora, particularly the ones of Venezuela and the US, for their profound efforts to end the Israeli war on Gaza and towards ending the Israeli occupation to fulfill the Palestinian people’s right in a free, democratic and contiguous state with east Jerusalem the capital.

Hamdallah’s statement came as he received, in his office in Ramallah, the Palestinian Venezuelan delegation and the Palestinian American delegation representing the Palestinian communities in both countries, according to the Palestinian Government Media Center.

He emphasized the active role of the Palestinian communities in various countries around the world, which considerably balanced the International opinion towards the truth, history and facts about the Palestinian struggle against the Israeli occupation, and the Israeli occupation government’s crimes mainly in Gaza and Jerusalem.

The Prime Minister highly appreciated the support of the Palestinian Communities in both countries and called for other Palestinian communities in the Diaspora to contribute in reconstructing the Gaza Strip and cooperating with the government in its emergency relief plans, mainly restoring demolished houses and providing shelters for displaced families.

The delegations informed the PM about the Palestinian communities’ initiatives, activities, and relief campaigns during the Israeli occupation’s war on Gaza and the amount of aid pledged to the residents of the costal enclave. Moreover, the representatives of the Palestinian Venezuelan community briefed Hamdallah on the ongoing medical, financial and humanitarian support provided to the Strip.
