RAMALLAH, January 7, 2015 (WAFA) – At least seven Palestinians were detained on Thursday by Israeli armed forces, during predawn raids in the West Bank districts, mainly in Ramallah village of Silwad, according to local and security sources.
Troops broke into Silwad, east of Ramallah, at predawn Thursday and raided and searched about 25 homes, before detaining at least six Palestinians.
During the raids, soldiers sabotaged the furniture in some of the homes, tore up portraits of Palestinians killed by Israeli troops in recent weeks, as well as smashed toy guns and confiscated national flags.
The six detainees were identified as Ali Nassar, 55, Saleh Salim, Mohammad Adnan Hamed, Abdul-Karim Hamed, Afif Ayyad, and Khaled Ayyad.
Also in Ramallah district, troops broke into the village of Beit Rima, where they detained Akram Bargouti, 47, after raiding his house.
The Israeli incursion into the village provoked clashes with local teens. Yet, there were no reports of casualties.
Meanwhile in Jenin district, Israeli troops detained a Palestinian, 34-year-old Hatem Amarneh from the town of Ya’bad, while he was passing through a flying Israeli checkpoint at the Nablus-Jenin main road. He was taken to an unknown destination
