Israel to Seize Palestinian Land near Bethlehem

BETHLEHEM, February 4, 2014 (WAFA) – Israeli authorities Tuesday notified a Palestinian resident from the village of Irtas, south of Bethlehem, of their intention to take over her land under the pretext of being a “state land,” according to a local activist.

Hassan Brijiyeh, member of the local anti-settlement committee, told WAFA that Kawkab Mousa found a notice on her land, located in an area in the village of Wadi Rahal, south of Bethlehem and adjacent to the settlement of Ifrat, informing her of their intentions to take over her 20-dunums of land.

He said that seizing the land is intended for the benefit of establishing a new settlement outpost in the area where settlers set up tents on the land almost two months ago and leveled it last week.
