TURLKARM, October 5, 2015 (WAFA) – A Palestinian youth was last night shot dead by the Israeli army during confrontations in the village of Bal’a, to the east of Tulkarm in the West Bank, according to medical sources.
Tulkarm public hospital reported that 18-year-old Huthayfa Salman was shot by Israeli soldiers with live ammunition in his abdomen, and was transferred to hospital in a critical condition before he succumbed to serious wounds minutes later.
According to Medical statistics, more than 200 Palestinian youths from Jenin, Hebron, Ramallah and Jerusalem were injured in ongoing confrontations that erupted on Thursday.
Three other Palestinians were also injured with live ammunition during the confrontations near Tulkarm, which broke out last night between Israeli army and Palestinian youths.
During the clashes, the army used live ammunition and teargas canisters against the youths, causing multiple cases of suffocation by teargas inhalation, besides those who were injured with rubber-bullets.
Tension has skyrocketed across the West Bank and Jerusalem with Israel’s repeated assault of al-Aqsa Mosque Compound, particularly its growing attempts to temporally divide the site between Muslims and Jews.
The situation has been significantly deteriorating also since the deadly arson attack on the Dawabsheh’s family home, which is strongly believed to be carried out by Jewish settlers.
With several deaths among Palestinians and Jewish settlers, clashes have erupted in other places in the West Bank and Jerusalem during the past four days, with settlers attacking Palestinian innocent villagers and families.
In the past two weeks alone, five Palestinian youths were killed by the Israeli army, namely 21-year-old Hadeel Hashlamon from Hebron, 21-year-old Diya’ Talahmeh from Hebron, 19-year-old Fadi Aloun from Jerusalem, 19-year-old Muhanad Halabi from Ramallah and 18-year-old Huthayfa Salman from Tulkarm.
